BUDY Flow

Allow me to introduce you to my creation, BUDY Flow:

After several years of exploration and reflection, I have come to understand the simplicity and clarity of this practice. It has become evident to me, and I have personally witnessed its effectiveness. In 2021, I was fortunate to receive funding to conduct research on the impact of this practice, and the results were truly astounding. I express my gratitude to the great spirit for inspiring me with this idea and igniting the passion to pursue it. What I have discovered is the essence of being in the most authentic and natural state as a human being – to embody the dance itself.

Come to one of my classes or workshops to feel it yourself:

A BUDY Flow class is a fusion of guided improvisation, synchronized Grooves and Yoga Dance sequencing. Approaches from Western and Eastern anatomy are used and incorporated. The aim of the training is to refine one's own movement quality while expressing creativity, individuality, and the presence of the moment.

With a focus on mindfulness towards our physical, energetic, mental, and emotional bodies, as well as all movements of the mind, this training provides a healthy and sustainable way to discover and transform the body as an instrument, and to penetrate the deep layers of being, releasing and healing blockages.

Through the techniques used here, both movement creativity and movement quality are improved, and can be applied to various artistic styles.

Strength lies not only in muscle power but also in mental ability, especially for those who want to excel in the artistic life on stage or in front of the camera.

In a BUDY Flow Class I work with the Qualities of the Elements:

Earth // Awareness to the physical body, its alignments and the connection to earth

Water // moving the water within the body

Fire // sensing the inner fire, courage and passion

Air // exploring ease and effortlessness

Ether // acknowledging spirit, space and devine connections

Q & A:

What are the prerequisites for practicing BUDY Flow?

BUDY Flow does not require experience in dance or yoga. It is applicable to every body, with or without dance/yoga experience. Openness and curiosity about the hidden potential of the body are helpful for the practice. Willingness to open up to all layers of being, including mental and emotional aspects, is helpful to fully enjoy the depth of the practice and its effects. In the case of significant emotional traumas from the past, it is advisable to seek therapy (conventional or alternative psychology) in addition to the BUDY Flow practice. If there are physical limitations, it is recommended to seek additional physiotherapeutic advice and/or treatment in conjunction with the BUDY Flow practice.

What are the mental and physical benefits of BUDY Flow?

  • Improvement of movement quality through refined perception

  • Strengthening of self-awareness

  • Alleviation of anxiety and stress symptoms

  • Release of tension in the body and mind, leading to increased flexibility and freedom of movement in both

  • Access to inner peace and serenity

  • Letting go of past issues through focusing on presence in the moment

  • Becoming aware of one's own desires and possibilities

  • Clarity and self-assurance

What is the BUDY Philosophy?

The improvement of movement quality reciprocally leads to an improvement in quality of life. How we move in life and in dance influences our well-being and, consequently, our interactions with others and the environment. Mindfulness and awareness of details are crucial for presence and self-confidence in dance, as well as in life. The philosophical teachings of yoga according to Patanjali serve as the foundation for the mental practice of BUDY Flow.

A mutually inseparable interaction between everyday life and dance emerges, meaning that the practice is transferred to life and vice versa.

Utilizing dance and yoga for their healing power offers the opportunity to combine these two methods into a health-promoting practice. Stored blockages in the body can be released, initiating healing processes. The connection between body and mind becomes the focus and center of consciousness.

What are the relevant movement qualities defined by BUDY Flow?

  1. Precision: The finer you perceive your movements and lines in your body, the more sensitive and mindful you become towards yourself and your surroundings, and vice versa.

  2. Authenticity: The more genuinely you move in life, the more authentic your movements become in dance, and vice versa.

  3. Freedom: The freer you feel in your movements and allow your body to take up space and explore flexibility, the more comfortable you will feel in life, taking up space, unfolding your potential, and living compassionately with others.

  4. Curiosity: The more curious you are to discover new movements within yourself, the more you will experience how it eases your life when you remain open to marvel at life at every moment.

  5. Depth: The deeper we can penetrate into the layers of our being through our body awareness in movement, the better we can resolve deep wounds, heal our bodies, and thus find more ease in life.

Through the practice of BUDY Flow, there is a refinement of our perception of ourselves, our movements internally and externally, and thereby the possibility of transformation. We discover the ability to have an influence and to understand.

This effect is an ongoing process and cannot be considered complete by, for example, obtaining a BUDY TT certificate. It is important to me that the practice is understood as a recurring means of understanding and discovering inner and outer movements. One cannot master the BUDY Flow technique; one can only apply it. Dance is the language of the eternal and exists solely in the moment when the dance happens.
